About the Event
Asian Education Group brings Table Tennis Doubles (Girls) to ATHLEEMA 2026 where partner synchrony, calculated placement, and composure under pressure separate good pairs from great ones. Competing duos must bring both individual technique and the ability to read, adapt, and rally as a cohesive unit.
Dates: 28 March 2026 → 30 March 2026, Start: 08:30 am
Tournament Format & Rules:
Each match is played over a predetermined number of games. A game is won by the first pair to reach 11 points, provided they hold a minimum two-point lead. A coin toss or draw at the start determines who serves first.
Service Rules in Doubles
• Serves must travel diagonally from the server's right-hand court to the receiver's right-hand court
• The ball must rest on a flat, open palm, tossed at least six inches, struck to bounce on the server's side, clear the net, and land in the diagonally opposite half of the receiver's court
• Service rotates after every two points, with each partner serving twice in succession
Alternating Play: How It Works
Both players in a pair must strike the ball in strict alternation. Failing to follow this sequence costs the pair a point immediately.
Order of Play & End Switches
The serving and receiving order is established before the game and must remain consistent throughout. Any deviation results in point loss. After each game, pairs swap ends and reverse the serve-receive order. In a deciding game, ends are exchanged again once either pair reaches five points.
Scoring System
Points are won by forcing the opposing pair into an error long, into the net, wide, or a failed return.
A point is awarded when:
• The serve is invalid or not diagonal
• A player fails to alternate hits in the correct sequence
• The ball is volleyed, double-struck, or obstructed
Table edge lines count as in; the sides of the table do not.
How to Win the Match
The pair that wins the agreed number of games first takes the match, typically best of 3 or best of 5. Each game requires reaching 11 points with a two-clear-point advantage. At 10-10, each player serves once per turn until one pair leads by two.
